EXHIBITION
On the occasion of the Deauville Sport Images Festival 2025, Mathieu Forget presents an exhibition that questions sport as an artistic act in its own right. At the intersection of photography, performance, and architecture, his work offers a distinctive perspective on the body in motion and its relationship to space.
" Paris 2024 transformed the city into a vast playground. I explored its lines, volumes, and empty spaces to inscribe the moving body within them, capturing the moment when sport enters into dialogue with the urban environment.
My work explores tension, balance, and elevation—those moments when the athlete seems to defy gravity as much as the surrounding setting."
Through this series, the artist moves beyond the simple representation of athletic performance to reveal its aesthetic and emotional dimensions. Bodies become lines, gestures converse with architecture, and each image suspends time to better celebrate the power, fragility, and poetry of movement. This exhibition invites viewers to adopt a new perspective on sport, envisioned as a space of freedom, expression, and contemporary imagination..
