AN IMMERSIVE
PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE

Espace Commines
17 Rue Commines, 75003, Paris

Forgetmat moves from the virtual to the real world, showcasing his work to draw the public into a universe of lightness and levitation.

This solo exhibition, held at Espace Commines in the heart of Le Marais, offers visitors a unique, immersive, and visually striking experience. For four days, the 700 m² pop-up space hosts more than 35 photographic works, along with live performances and interactive workshops. Visitors are invited to explore the art of movement, defy gravity, step into specially designed immersive spaces, and use augmented reality to watch Forgetmat’s photographs come to life through video.

Forgetmat also brings together other talents through original collaborations—with artists like Jordane Saget, Bastien Dausse, and Victoria Dauberville, as well as athletes such as Enzo Lefort, Florent Manaudou, and Carlota Dudek.

Labeled as part of the Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad and featured on the official program of La Nuit Blanche on June 3rd, The Levitation Project is a space for all generations.
An exhibition that invites you to dream, to travel, to discover, and to connect.

INTENTION

For the first time, I’ve chosen to present an immersive photographic experience alongside invited artists and athletes. I invite you to let yourself be carried into the art of levitation and to journey through my imagination.

With this exhibition, I wanted to move from digital to physical space, to defy gravity, and to play with your perception. Through my work, I invite you into a timeless world — one filled with poetry, color, and stories. From New York to Istanbul, from Paris to Los Angeles, and across the salt lake of Tuz Gölü, my aim has been to suspend, choreograph, and elevate time through movement.

One year before the 2024 Olympic Games, I also wanted to pay tribute to the world of sport — a world that shaped me and carried me to where I am today. For this occasion, I created a brand-new series of photographs, shown here for the very first time.

INSPIRATION

When I was a kid, I used to say I lived on airplanes.
Coming from a family of athletes, I grew up surrounded by the world of sports. I traveled around the globe more than once — and probably without even realizing it, I was already being shaped and inspired by those journeys.

At 15, I discovered the power of image and dance through MTV music videos. I felt an instant connection — I wanted to be part of that world. It was a revelation: I wanted to dance. Tennis took me to the United States, where I ended up spending ten years of my life. That’s where it all started — I got into social media, and later discovered photography. I learned how to play with light, how to use the world around me to capture a moment, a movement, a feeling. Photography allowed me to see the world differently. I still dance, yes — but now I have a new urge: to express myself and to share my story.

That’s how I began developing, in my own way, the art of levitation — a suspended moment that feels lighter, makes us dream, and takes us somewhere between the cosmos and zero gravity.

Social media became my stage — a place where I invite people every day to join me and share a moment together. And as that audience grew, it carried me to where I am today.

WHY DO I FLY?

“When I dance and capture myself in photos, it’s as much a physical challenge as it is an artistic performance. During that fleeting half-second flight, I escape from the world around me. I think of nothing else — suspended between earth and sky, out of time — I feel free, I float, and I live a magical moment. Then, as I fall and catch myself, I return to the real world. For a brief instant, I forget where I am and who I am. Then I look at the photo taken by my camera, and I see myself with new eyes. It’s no longer just me. It’s a body frozen mid-air, an expression, a gesture, a desire, a dream, an emotion. Repeating this movement makes me feel like everything around me disappears, and a trance takes over. I believe this is what drives me to always want to go higher and further."
